WHOIS Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson? About My Writing….
MY NAME is Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson. I am 52 and in the midst of my mid-life crisis….
I am an educator, AND an entrepreneur. Yet in reality, I don’t know who the hell I really am. At 52 years old, it seems as though I just decided to try to find myself.
I’ve done a lot of things in my life, yet, it seems I had never done anything worth a darn, until I decided to pursue my life-long dream to be a writer.
Thus, in a futile attempt to salvage the remaining years of my life, I’m starting this blog, about 20 years late.
Because I didn’t actually start trying to fulfill my life-long dream to be a writer until I hit 50, I’m now trying to play catch-up. So, believing that I didn’t really have time to submit my manuscript to 150 traditional publishers, and be turned down 150 times, before finally having it be accepted, I self-published my first book entitled “Chief Cook and Bottle-Washer” The Unconquerable Soul Of Wilkie Clark.

Here’s What it looks like:
The book is a biography about a man that I really loved and adored. My father.
Because of him, I am a deep thinker. I am concerned not only about education, I’m concerned about the realities of life….black life in particular…..because I am a black woman, trying to live and survive in a world dominated by the white middle class.
I am a christian, although daily, definitions and perceptions of christianity are changing as often as the sun rises and sets…
All my life, I have maintained a very deep concern about politics, racism, and hypocrisy in everything. I spend a lot of time meditating on economics and economic empowerment.
Thus, these are the things I write about.
So deep was the concern and influence that my father had on me, until I started a Foundation in his honor.
Last year (2005) we launched a Black Weekly newspaper. On July 22, 2005, we published our inaugural edition of The People’s Voice Black Weekly News. I write a column (most weeks) in The People’s Voice, which you will find posted here on my blog as well.
