SOBER THOUGHTS

The Heart, Mind, and Soul of Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson

ABOUT MY WEEKLY COLUMN: Sober Thoughts

Charlotte A. Clark-FriesonOn July 22, 2005, acting in my capacity as chairwoman of the Wilkie Clark Memorial Foundation, Inc. I along with my comrades and colleagues launched the inaugural edition of The People’s Voice Black Weekly Newspaper.

The People’s Voice became the first Black Weekly Newspaper published for the enlightenment of black consumers and readers throughout East Central Alabama, and West Central Georgia.

I now serve as co-publisher, and Associate Editor of The People’s Voice.

Although I have continuously contributed my own material in weekly editions of The People’s Voice, I have recently started this column which periodically appears in The Voice, which I dubbed “Sober Thoughts.”

On this blog, you will find a collection of my writings, which I call….SOBER THOUGHTS.

THESE ARE MY REFLECTIONS IN ANTICIPATION OF BEGINNING THIS COLUMN:
SOBER THOUGHTS, I WRITE…

“The day I decided to start this blog, Wilkie Clark’s Daughter Wrote:

My mama used to always say that whenever a person is in a drunken rage, he or she is only revealing their sober thoughts.

Only under the influence of mind-altering substances — like drugs or alcohol– do they have the courage to reveal their real thoughts.

Well, I want to share my sober thoughts…

This is the place where I enter my drunken rage…only I’m not under the influence of any mind-altering substance.

It’s just me…and my sober thoughts…”
